This is a picture of the island of Samoa

 .

Samoa was discovered in 1722 and found by sir John Williams in 1830.

On 1 January 1962 Western Samoa became independent of New Zealand. Independence Day, however, is celebrated on 1 June and this day continues to be recognized by the Samoan community in New Zealand.

The men tattoo in Samoa is called Pea and the women's tattoo in Samoa is called Malu.

There is a legend of Samoan Tatau. It's when these two women swim all the way from Samoa to Fiji and a man gives them a script that says pea are for girls and malu are for boys.

When they were swimming back to Samoa  they saw something shiny underneath the blue sea. Then they followed the blue shiny thing and one day when they woke up the script was mixed and soaked up. They forgot everything and the script said Malu for girls and Pea for boys.

So this is all about the island of Samoa
